Strengthening Community-Based Tourism workshop in St. Vincent & the Grenadines

October 2025 | St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Caribbean

Tourism has long been a driving force in the economy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly along the South Coast, where local MSMEs (small, medium, and micro-enterprises) have been instrumental in shaping the industry. These businesses are promoting sustainable tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and offering unforgettable experiences to visitors.

As part of the Caribbean Blue Tourism Initiative, CANARI recently concluded a successful workshop titled “Strengthening Community-Based Tourism in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.”

From October 21-23, 2025, 20 participants were equipped with the skills and knowledge to:
• Implement Sustainable coastal & marine tourism practices
• Improve their Business development & financial skills
• Embrace Tech & innovation to boost business performance

The workshop has laid the foundation for MSMEs to craft stronger business strategies to enable success, adopt eco-friendly practices to protect the environment, integrate sustainable and digital practices into their operations, as well as tap into grant and funding opportunities.

We’re excited to continue to support these businesses as they continue to innovate and grow, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient tourism sector in SVG.
