In a wonderful spirit of exchange and synergy, the Blue Mediterranean League for Youth (BML) and the AMPESA Association officially launched the IZURAN ODYSSEY project on Friday, September 26, 2025, as part of the Blue Tourism Initiative (BTI).
This project marks a key milestone in enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the region, while placing youth and women at the heart of ecotourism governance.
Its ambition: to promote sustainable, participatory, and responsible tourism within the Al Hoceima National Park .
The event brought together over 70 participants from the associative, cooperative, hotel, public, and private sectors, united by a shared vision: to make blue tourism a lever for inclusive and sustainable development.
Within the framework of the implementation phase of the Blue Tourism Initiative, and building on the experience of the MEET Network, the Al Hoceima National Park pilot has at its heart the establishment of a Local Ecotourism Cluster, bringing together park managers, local businesses, cooperatives, NGOs, and public authorities. This collaborative platform is designed to coordinate tourism activities, share resources, and ensure that ecotourism development benefits both the protected area and surrounding communities. By aligning efforts, the cluster aims to overcome fragmented initiatives of the past and deliver a consistent, market-ready tourism offer.
