Last Friday, February 21st, Blue Tourism Initiative officially launched the Moroccan pilot site of the Al Hoceima National Park.

The meeting brought together key partners to lay the groundwork for #ustainabletourism in Al Hoceima National Park, with the participation of IDDRI, IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation, Intrepid Travel, the Department of Maritime Fisheries, the Ministry of Tourism, the National Agency for Water and Forests, and Al Hoceima National Park.

IUCN Med presented the project’s objectives in Morocco, planned activities following the MEET Network approach, and expected results, as well as previous initiatives in Al Hoceima that the Initiative will build upon. The team also shared updates on the project’s progress and the work plan.

Participants actively contributed their views and input, discussing ways to collaborate and align efforts to make this initiative a success. Their insights will be key in shaping an inclusive and impactful approach to sustainable coastal and marine tourism.
