Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing a Webinar titled “Policy Pathways Towards a More Sustainable Cruise Sector.” This event will be held online on Zoom on October 3rd from 2.30 to 4 PM CEST.

This webinar aims to encourage a debate on the cruise sector’s multidimensional and multilevel impacts, its governance challenges and responsive opportunities for a more sustainable future. Central to the event will be the presentation of a new report entitled “Policy Pathways Towards a More Sustainable Cruise Sector,” conducted by eco-union and IDDRI. The study assesses the cruise sector’s current trends, challenges, and opportunities and advances policy actions for a more sustainable cruise tourism sector in the region. 

Furthermore, the report provides a reference for discussion among key stakeholders. It will present relevant data and discuss the role of key actors in fostering a more sustainable cruise sector. Cruise tourism stakeholders are invited to react, present, and discuss their views on the sector’s governance future to foster best practices and improve its environmental sustainability.
