During the Third United Nations Ocean Conference 3 in Nice on 9-13 June 2025, the Blue Tourism Initiative is organising an official off-site event “Shaping Blue Tourism: Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Pathways”. It will be held at the West End Nice Hotel – Conference Room: Poseidon, from 2.30 to 4.30 CET.
At the heart of the reflection discussion and solutions on SDG 14 by sharing research, local innovation, and policy solutions. Participants from the diverse coastal regions – Mediterranean, Europe, Caribbean, Western Indian Ocean – will explore sustainable tourism approaches, cross-sector collaborations, and equitable strategies to transform coastal and marine tourism – balancing conservation with demand, amplifying local successes, and ensuring resilient practices for lasting ecosystem and community benefits.
This event aims to:
– Allow interactions and the exchange of experience among marine regions.
– Allow participants, including policy-makers, to reflect on policy actions to advance towards a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable blue tourism sector.
– Foster networking opportunities and lead to new initiatives and partnerships across blue tourism stakeholder groups.
A coffee break buffet will be held in the hotel after the event to enhance networking possibilities.
