During the Blue Economy and Financial Forum (BEF) in Monaco on June 7th and 8th, our co-leader partner IDDRI co-organises the site event “Launch of the Ocean Tourism Pact”. It will be held at the Grimaldi Forum – Conference Room: Auric 1, from 4.30 to 18 CET.

At the Monaco Blue Economy and Finance Forum (BEF), organised in occasion of  the Third  United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), many leaders from across the tourism industry will come together to launch the Ocean Tourism Pact, a collective pledge and a working method to build a sustainable coastal and marine tourism (“blue tourism”). 

The launch of the Ocean Tourism Pact will represent a major step for sustainable blue tourism. This initiative will be facilitated by our project leader IDDRI, the French government facilitated the initiative, and the Ocean & Climate Platform, with the support of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), under the One Planet Network’s Sustainable Tourism Program.

The Ocean Tourism Pact aims to grow its coalition in the coming months by bringing together new stakeholders dedicated to protecting marine and coastal ecosystems and shaping a sustainable future for blue tourism.
