During the III MED Sustainable Tourism Convention, Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing an in-person side event “Advancing Sustainable Blue Tourism in the Mediterranean – Towards the MED Blue Tourism Flagship Initiative“, in collaboration with Diputación de Barcelona. It will be held at the Auditorium Pati Manning, in Barcelona (Spain) on June 17th 2026, from 17.30 to 19 pm CEST.

During Our Ocean Conference, Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing an in-person side event “Pathways to Sustainable Blue Tourism in the Western Indian Ocean”, in collaboration with Our Blue Future (GIZ). It will be held at the WIO-C Pavilion, at the Pride Inn in Mombasa (Kenya) on June 16th 2026, from 10.45 EAT.

During 24th Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols, the Blue Tourism Initiative is co-organizing an side event “Pathways to a Thriving Mediterranean Blue Economy: Resilience, Innovation, and Sustainability”, which will be held on December 4th, 2025 from 14:00 to 15:00 Room: Malachite I+II Floor 2, The St. Regis Cairo, Cairo, Egypt.

The Blue Tourism Initiative organises an interactive World Café session at IUCN World Conservation Congress on October 9th, 2025 at the Conference Hall A, in Abu Dabi. The event is scheduled from 2.30 to 4 PM (EAT) and will explore how sustainable blue tourism can drive resilient economies, protect marine and coastal ecosystems, and generate equitable benefits for local communities.

During WIOMSA 13th Scientific Symposium, the Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing an official event on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, 4:00 PM – 5:40 PM EAT. The event brings together experts, innovators, and changemakers working at the intersection of tourism, fisheries, and sustainability in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) region.

During UNOC 25, the Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing an official off-side event “Shaping Blue Tourism: Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Pathways“ with other co-organisers sush as OBG, GIZ, Nairobi Convention, among others. It will be held at the the West End Nice Hotel – Conference Room: Poseidon, on June 9th from 2.30 to 4.30 PM CEST.

During the Blue Economy and Financial Forum (BEF) in Monaco on June 7th and 8th, our co-leader partner IDDRI co-organises the site event “Launch of the Ocean Tourism Pact”. It will be held at the Grimaldi Forum – Conference Room: Auric 1, from 4.30 to 18 CET.

On the occasion of the UNOC, the Blue Tourism Initiative is organizing the event “Coastal and ocean-based tourism – threat to coastal environment or driver of restoration and sustainable development?“. It will be held at the Town Hall, on June 5th from 12.45 to 13.45 PM CEST.

In the framework of the RFSD 2025, the Blue Tourism Initiative organises an online side event debate how tourism in the Mediterranean can contribute to the SDGs, with particular emphasis on SDG 14, 5, and 8. The event will be online on Zoom on April 3rd 2025 at 1.15 – 2.30 PM.
